Emirates Cricket today announced that OSN, the region’s leading pay-TV network, has renewed its partnership with the Emirates Cricket Board as the Official Sponsor of the UAE National Men’s Cricket Team for 2016.
OSN has been a valued supporter of Emirates Cricket since March 2014 through its sponsorship of Emirates Cricket’s National Teams. The sole focus of this year’s partnership is to extend continued support for the Men’s National Team, and will see the OSN logo proudly displayed on the team’s full kit.
Having won fans from various cricket-loving nations during their 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup campaign, in Australia and New Zealand, successfully qualifying and participating in this year’s Asia Cup and successfully retaining their ODI and T20I status, the UAE Men’s team now enters the next exciting growth phase for Emirates Cricket.
Zayed Abbas, Member of the Emirates Cricket Board and Head of Marketing & Media ECB, said: “We successfully qualified for two key tournaments on our calendar in the past 2-years; the Cricket World Cup (2015) and this year’s (Twenty20) Asia Cup, and through our performances at these key tournaments it was evident that we were ready and in need of taking steps toward being a more professional playing outfit. These steps include appointing full-time selectors and finalising a roster of full-time and part-time contract players, both of which we believe are integral in making our Men’s team a more competitive, cohesive unit. We are extremely grateful of OSN’s commitment and support and are very pleased they will continue this journey with us.”
Steve Copestake, Senior Vice President, Marketing at OSN, said: “By successfully qualifying for two key international tournaments, the UAE National Men’s Cricket Team has proven that they have what it takes to make even bigger steps in world cricket. Their success is an inspiration for every cricket enthusiast in the country and OSN are proud sponsors. OSN has always focused on strengthening cricket talent in the UAE, and we invest significantly in bringing the best in cricket from across the world live to sport fans in the region. As the undisputed home of cricket, we go the extra mile in supporting our National team. We congratulate Emirates Cricket on their commitment to promoting the game and building a strong National team.”
Emirates Cricket’s next appearance on the international stage will be at the ICC Intercontinental Cup (ICup) and the World Cricket League (WCL) to be played in and against Scotland during August of this year. The team will enter a 10-day preparation camp in Hampshire and Jersey leading into UAE’s 4-day ICup, followed by the 2-day 50-over WCL.
OSN Sports Cricket HD offers cricket fans across the region thousands of hours of live cricket. The network holds the rights for all ICC events, The Asia Cup Indian Premier League, Pakistan Super League, Big Bash league, Caribbean Premier league and all India, England, Australia, Bangladesh and New Zealand home series.
